Created by Mono+Mono

The new Sitpack ZEN is the world’s most compact, and functional one-legged chair. It's designed to improve your posture, and lets you relax when you need it, whether you’re indoors or outdoors. Made with either carbon or alu tubes, and a ballistic nylon seat, it's the toughest, most advanced and lightest portable seat on the market.

Dear All...

We have now shipped 99 % of all pledges. Some have still not answered the survey, thus we can ship your product.

We are also almost done with shipping units to those that have been approved for a new model. It would mean a great deal to us if, when you received your new Zen, that you let people know in the comments section.

Zen X-I and X-II are now fully in stock and available. www.sitpack.com

Thank you to everyone that has to keep believing in us - and hopefully, we have now proven not to be a scam, LOL :)

Oh, and we'll be making a carry pouch for the Zen very soon!

All (almost) orders shipped - WOOP WOOP

Corona virus, missing survey answers, and everything in between + rattling Carbon (early Zen X-II) solution.
over 4 years ago – Fri, Feb 07, 2020 at 07:35:26 PM

Hi Everybody and happy Friday.

Here's a short update on our progress with shipping.

We have shipped nearly all Sitpack Zen's... and we are reshipping for folks that have requested it. Everyone that has filled out their survey has been shipped their order.

Due to the Corona virus and Chinese New Year, we have not shipped anything since the 20th of Jan. Our shipping partner will open again on Monday the 10th feb. and we'll re-start shipping.

In our PM and DM we get many complaints that backers have not received the product - the vast majority have not picked up their package which then gets shipped back, or still has not filled out their survey. So please do this before commenting publicly.  If your pledge indeed has not been shipped, it will be - count on that.

While our customer service isn't perfect due to limited resources, we are committed to getting all the products out. Many backers are afraid/angry about the potential loss of their pledge - we are very keen on keeping the business alive and have to be cost-efficient. Money raised across platforms are just not enough, so we have to keep selling and have developed the business. When unhappy backers, for whatever reason, try to undermine the product and our business online, it really just makes everything harder for us, and more difficult for us to deliver.  We want you to be happy and we do what we can with the resources that are available.

Please keep in mind that Sitpack is a Crowdfunded company - we are not listed, or massively funded. We don't have a large portfolio of products that we can use to diversify our revenue. We have the Sitpack 2.0 and Sitpack Zen. That's it. (for now at least)...

And we use all the funds we have received are to improve faults and re-ship products. We don't work for free, and neither does any of our partners. Each exchange we do of a Sitpack cost us net 40-60 USD. Where should we get this money from if angry backer tries to destroy our reputation, even when we make marketing for Sitpack 2.0, which is out there and people are happy with. There is not much logic in this behavior, we work for you and strive to get you what you pledged for. We have emphasized this countless times...We've shipped almost 100.000 2.0 products the past couple of years, even after faced with devastating production issues.

We'll naturally honor what we have said, and exchange the ones that are eligible for an exchange - but we have to have overall budgets in mind, so we are making the puzzle work for all.

Many backers are still angry and feel that we are ignoring them, we're not - we're just a bit slow, due to limited resources- in all fairness, we are have been making a product that any other company would easily spend 2.000.000 USD on Developing, at 1/4th of the price. So it's NOT that we are ignoring anyone, we are simply trying to maneuver and make the best outcome for all. Everything we are doing is to make this all work for all. Please understand that there is no, hidden agenda we don't monetize on being late on delivery, on the contrary...

For the rattling Carbon - Please try this before wanting an exchange, would make a huge difference if this solution helps you out... Thanks

If you hear a rattle in you Zen X-II (very few early Zen X-l have this issue) - you just need to take off the foot and pour out the little plastic part. It’s not a crucial part, it's a thin part of the top that hold the plastic insert together, making the parts easier to produce and assemble, it is not a part of the locking mechanism. It happens because the Carbon tubes have a slight variance in tolerances compared to the aluminum tubes. It is NOT a vital part and will not jeopardize your security.

All the best,

Jonas and the Sitpack Team.

November update
over 4 years ago – Tue, Nov 12, 2019 at 01:23:02 AM

Hi Everyone

Here’s our long-awaited update.

Admittedly, this project has been far from perfect! Rising costs, development and production issues, supplier delivery delays, etc. all, part of Murphy's fantastic law, have accumulated and put the Zen project under massive pressure.

Backers who have to experience bend wings, screws pop out, internal rattling, etc. are all entitled to a heartfelt apology from all of us, and reassurance that we will supply you with a new product ASAP! Nothing with this project has been easy. We hope that you can accept our sincerest apology for the excessive waiting time, and hopefully, understand that delays are of course not in our interest. Profits from the campaign were meant to market and build our company, but are instead being used on operations and production issues. All backers will be attended to, but financial restraints do not allow us to provide you with the service that we wish to give you or the speed of delivery/redelivery that is to be expected.

We really hope that our backers will direct issues, self-made or otherwise directly to us, and not troll our SoMe channels, it only makes our job more difficult.

We are pushing through, and the delivery of products is ongoing!

We would like to clear out some misconceptions:

1. We do not send out pre-broken products! Our production partner sends out 100.000s of products in Rehab and Health Care every year. Our QC process is working at the parameters we have provided them – we have done random sampling of several 100’s of units with no issues (except for the design/material flaws noted above). There are some issues that we see are the fault of the assembly line, and we are getting wiser with every batch.

One of many Sitpack Zen graveyards

We have been smashing Sitpacks the past few weeks. So when we get a description of an issue - trust us when we say that we have tried every potential way to mess up a Sitpack Zen.

2. We don’t send out products where the strap is to short (none of the 100’s of cases has this been correct). All products are opened and closed before being packed. If in doubt, please measure your seat. The seat is 36,5 cm long, and each strap is 39cm (deduct 2-4 cm. used for mounting). The below picture is one of many we get showing us that the strap is too short, which it all cases hasn't been the case.

The seat is 36,5 cm long, and each strap is 39 cm long

3. My foot came pre-broken. The Zen foot cannot be assembled broken, it’s impossible. See the videos below.

4. Weight Capacity: As you support on your legs, Sitpack is absorbing approx  70% of your actual weight – so if you weigh 100 kg. Only 70kg will actually be placed on the Sitpack. But if you place that weight, on one wing - chances are that it will break, Sitpack is constructed for centered seating.

Please watch our homemade "real life" test. Should you stand in a crowd and someone chooses to throw themselves in your arms: Alu test 177KG / 390 Lbs. and Carbon 153kg / 337 Lbs. pressure – NO issues!

For the issues with snapped/bend wings, we have done the following.

1. Larger HEX screw

The new HEX - implemented in all Alu shipments from August & 90% Carbon shipments from August.

2. Broadened the wings where they are attached, now unbreakable.

Rattling: We see comments still with these comments, one of the reasons is that earlier Sitpacks were still sent out until September. We are gluing the internal plastic part that would normally break off and create the rattle (you can still use your product even after the small piece has broken off). but still, it happens. So now we are internal parts are getting additional layers of superglue.

The carbon tubes have been hard to get to the exact dimensions as the alu tubes, and even though we are weaving bespoke carbon tubes, there is still a itzy bitzy variance create “issues” for the plastic inserts in the carbon version making them sound a bit “crunchy” when taking a seat the first few times. That's the sound of the plastic settling in the tubes.

THE BROKEN FOOT/STOPPER MYSTERY:

About 50 Backers have received a Zen X-II where the stopper fall out broken upon opening the package. If you have a broken foot we’ll send you a new one. We have tested the hell out of a bunch from the factory, and we are puzzled, to say the least. Our take on the issue is that customs try to take it apart but have no idea how to, and somehow break it. Many of the pictures sent show that shipping packaging that has been opened. But really, we don’t know, it's a mystery.

As we are not able to replicate a broken foot, with a normal Sitpack Zen, we threw it in the freezer. And at -15 Celcius it still withstood a beating.

Additionally, our factory has sent a video on the assembly process showing that it’s impossible for the factory to assemble a Sitpack with a broken foot, or break it during assembly.

Shipping Status

Shipping was postponed in late Sept. due to a tax refund issues for our manufacture when sending from Hong Kong. We should have notified our backers earlier, sorry, but the solution seemed to be right around the corner. All KS order is very close to being shipped.  (Some backers are still missing filling out their survey - please fill it out here: https://sitpack-zen-x.backerkit.com/)

Shipping Status

No one is more unsatisfied, with delivering a product that does not live up to customer’s expectations, than us at Sitpack. Not only does it not encourage a good relationship with our backers that we want. Secondly, it costs a fortune to reship products, as well as ongoing investment in production. It makes profits dwindle, and revenue decline – two things that are pretty crucial for a business.

We are in this to build something new and unique and to keep making products that are new and never before seen. We really hope, that we, as creators, still have your trust and understanding. If you know people in your network, your friends, or family, busting their ass' off with their start-up or small business. You will have an idea of what we are going through. I don't think you would call them scammers, as some continue to call us, but hard workers. We are doing what we can to deliver an awesome product, albeit it feels like it's taking forever.

A good example is, The Lampster, it's the most expensive product I ever backed 3+ years in the making. And man did they have a hard time. But they made it and delivered. It’s an awesome lamp, (but the app is horrible). I can only say that I'm happy with the outcome and glad that I had other stuff to do in the 3 years of waiting, it was a pleasant surprise when it finally showed up.

Lampster on a Zen X-I
